EU-Brazil sector dialogue on nature-based solutions

The event, which is co-organised by the ICLEI European Secretariat, ICLEI South America Secretariat, the Connecting Nature project and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, will bring together European and Brazilian stakeholders from different urban sectors to discuss, share experiences and learn from one another on how to better plan NBS for sustainable urban change.

The Academy will offer Brazilian cities a platform to express their needs, share their experiences and learn with European cities on how to better plan and implement nature-based interventions to create new jobs, foster economic growth and strengthen the resilience of cities.

In the presentation "Taking stock of NBS in European cities and related policies", Naturvation’s researcher Sandra Naumann (Ecologic) will provide insights into the first Naturvation results. Her focus will be on the Urban Nature Atlas and its 1000 NBS interventions and to what extent current EU and national policy frameworks support the implementation of NBS.
