Boston

Boston

Boston is undergoing rapid population growth and economic transformation, while struggling to address water pollution and climate change. The newly-adopted climate plan addresses these two key sustainability challenges. At the same time, bottom-up initiatives, such as the East-Boston Greenway tackle social inequalities through green space provision. Universities in Boston, Harvard, MIT, and Tufts, constitute a significant intellectual, economic, and political role in the region. The city, however, is deeply segregated by income and race, and is also grappling with growing economic and racial inequality.
