The NATURVATION project aims to understand what is needed to unlock the potential of nature-based solutions for more sustainable urban development. As part of this project, the GLOBIO team of PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency in collaboration with the Centre of Environmental and Climate Research (CEC) has developed a database of peer-reviewed papers on ecosystem services provisioning by urban green and blue infrastructure. This database contains an overview of more than 500 peer-reviewed scientific publications reporting several ecosystem services that are generally considered particular important in the urban context (e.g. local climate regulation, storm water management). The ultimate aim of the data collection is to establish quantitative relationships that can be used to model biodiversity and ecosystem services in cities. The database is made available online through the GLOBIO website.
