Sharing insights
Naturvation postdoctoral researcher Laura Tozer is in Sweden April 24th to May 3rd carrying out field research on mainstreaming nature-based solutions into sustainable urban development. Sustainable urban development in Sweden is seeking to address a number of challenges, from climate change action to a lack of affordable housing to biodiversity enhancement to social sustainability. Laura is conducting interviews to find out more about how cities are developed and financed in Sweden to address these challenges, and the role that urban nature plays. In her conversations with banks, institutional investors, urban planners, nature NGOs, housing developers and more, interviewees are generously sharing their insights into the barriers to urban nature-based solutions implementation and critical pathways that could lead to mainstream uptake in urban development.
