As part of NATURVATION, a scenario exercise was undertaken with the aim to help municipal authorities and their partners to envision nature-based solutions pathways that can address various urban sustainability challenges. To support this work, we developed an open-access software tool, the Urban Nature Explorer. 

As a web-based interactive platform, the Urban Nature Explorer aims to support the development and the visualization of alternative nature-based solution scenarios and assess their costs, benefits, and impacts on selected urban sustainability challenges (e.g. climate change, stormwater management or social cohesion). The Urban Nature Explorer has a map-based interface that can be customized to any location, and used in the early visioning stage of participatory planning processes.
